FFTI Update, August 2011

On August 9th ,2011, we have visited by LAPMAS, a NGO from Flores. Their focused on organic farming. LAPMAS is one of VECO partner in Flores (VECO is a one of international NGO that focused the program on sustainable agriculture).

We were sharing on outlet management, since they want to develop one outlet for organic products. FFTI team were so glad that they chosen FFTI as a place for comparative study. Hopefully it was a good start to make relationship with the partner in Flores, especially for food products.

Two Days after LAPMAS Visit, on August 11th, 2011, we have held a Fair Trade Lunch with Janet de Neefe. She is a founder of 3 restaurants in Ubud, also a writer for a Balinese Cooking Book that will publish in Australia. We invited women group, NGO, government, media, and chef. It was an inspiring discussion, that told us ‘the power of food” and relationship between food and identity. Many good feed back also came from the audience.
